In this session, explore how collaboration and literacy strategies work together to promote
engagement, comprehension, and retention across all academic disciplines. Focused on student learning,
this session will build collaborative discussions that promote how teachers can apply pre-reading, during
reading, and post reading strategies to strengthen students’ comprehension and critical thinking skills.
Participants will:
1. Learn how collaboration and literacy strategies promote student engagement, comprehension, and
retention across all academic disciplines.
2. Investigate the value of pre-reading, during reading, and post reading strategies.
3. Generate insights into the value of literacy strategies that promote critical- thinking.
