Unlocking the Power of Graphic Novels: Energize Learning with Visual Storytelling K-3
Tuesday November 5, 2024 8:00am - 9:20am EST
TBA
Target Audience: K-3 Teachers, ELL, SEL, support staff

Teachers will learn the characteristics of a graphic novel and explore a variety of genres written in graphic novel format. They will also learn the educational impact graphic novels have in student literacy and comprehension. This learning will be applied by practicing and developing cross-curricular lessons (for example: SEL, science, social studies, math) and activities that allow students to engage with and create graphic novels. They will walk away from this experience not only with curated resources, but ready-to-teach activities to try with their students the next day.
