Collaborative Planning for Success: Strengthening Grade-Level Instruction and Assessment with the EL Curriculum (1st grade)

In this collaborative workshop, educators teaching the same grade level across various schools will come together to engage in strategic planning around the EL curriculum. Special Educators and ELL teachers who teach the curriculum are welcome to join a grade that’s applicable to them. Participants will have the opportunity to share best practices, align instructional strategies, and develop cohesive lesson plans that support student success. Through discussions, resource-sharing, and hands-on planning time, teachers will work collaboratively to address common challenges, differentiate instruction, and enhance student engagement with the EL curriculum.


Intended Outcomes:
Foster collaboration among educators to ensure consistency and alignment across schools.
Refine grade-level lesson plans tailored to the EL curriculum.
Share strategies for differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including English Learners and students with special needs.
Strengthen professional networks for ongoing support and resource-sharing throughout the year.
Participants will leave with plans and a stronger sense of collaboration across schools.

Kindergarten teachers and other educators who teach or modify EL for kindergarten.

Please bring your teachers guide and teacher supporting materials for whichever module you wish to plan for. You will also need a charged computer. This is not a formal presentation.
