About me
I love to spend time with my wife and our 3 adult(YIKES!) children. I enjoy woodworking, kayaking, bicycling, and cooking.
I was a first and second grade teacher for 20 years before taking on my current role as math coach. As a classroom teacher, reading instruction and assessment were a primary focus of my practice. During my second act as a math coach, I have been able to draw on my understanding of miscue analysis, flexible strategies, and the foundational role of phonics to inform my understanding of how students develop fact fluency and it's foundational role in their development as mathematical thinkers.
